Elizabeth "Liz" Parker Actually Liz Parker had already planned her entire future: she wanted to become a molecular biologist and find answers with the help of the science to questions of the mankind. But one day the page turned. Liz works in the Crashdown Café of her parents and get's shoot. Max Evans saves her life with laying on of hands and he makes her an ally. Liz Parker is the first person, who knows the secret of the siblings Max and Isabel and their friend Michael. When Max healed her, she didn't just became included but also became a soulmate to Max. He was able to see into her soul and despite primary difficulties they get closer to each other. But his secret turn Liz's life upside down and she must prove that she's a reliable person who gives 150 percent for a thing when she's certain. She is very energetically to protect the life of the three aliens, that she alienates and abandons her best friend Alex. Despite all hindrances she tries to get her life under control again, which lies in her nature. But in parts she fails and some people get disapointed. Otherwise, Liz has the feeling that her life started on the day when Max saved her. And this and the love to Max makes it worth it. |

Maxwell "Max" Evans When Max was in second class he already was fascinated by Liz Parker. But after he saved Liz life on a day in September in the "Crashdown" his life changed forever. Together with his sister and his best friend Michael he has a secret which he risked to betray by using his powers. Max is very introverted and he thinks much about his future, his act and the following consequences. This maintains the relationship with Liz, but in spite of loving and demanding Liz he takes a backtrack. He's not sure what consequences this love would have. Max, Isabel and Michael came out of icubation pods in 1989 in the shape of 6 year old children, but only Max & Isabel got adopted. Max is determined - a born leader. With him, everything about the groupe can be discussed. He is a part of everything. Max is satisfied with his life in Roswell, particulary since he knows that Liz answers his feelings. In addition he is interested in his origin and past, whereby he is torn between his human and alien life. Max is the one, who has his abilities more under control and he can specific use them. In the moment in which he saved the life of Liz Parker he gave his life and the life of his sister and friend into Liz's hand. Because it's up to her, if the secret persists a secret. |

Maria DeLuca Maria grew up as an only child. Her parents got divorced, when Maria was seven years old. Together with Liz Parker, her best friend, she works at the "Crashdown" - the restaurant Liz parents own. Maria is a self-confident emancipated girl, a little crazy, inventive and sarcastic. She is a young woman, who knows what she wants. Maria is a very passionate woman. Even if she don't admit it, she loves Michael. In the beginnig she seems to be very nervous and an uncertain - a person who loses control. When Liz tells her about the aliens Maria is very sceptical, afraid and she freaks out. But later she accustom to the fact, that there aren't just aliens on Earth but also in Liz's circle of friends. Maria gets calmer, certain and she says what she thinks. From the outside, she seems to became a tough woman. But in the inside, she's as vulnerable as the others - maybe a little more. Maria is a loyal friend, Liz, Max, Isabel, Michael and Alex can trust in. Apart from her passion for the Alien Michael she's dedicated to music. When she was eleven years old she spent a summerbreak in a songwriterworkshop. Together with her best friend Alex and his band "The Whits", she got some stage experience. She performed with them the song "In the Air Tonight" at a local radio show. Maria goes to "W. Roswell High", but after school she looking forward to become a professional singer. |

Michael Guerin Michael Guerin is one of the four Aliens, but he neither got adopted like Max and Isabel nor educated by the protector like Tess. He got to a foster father, who is addicted to alcohol and doesn't care about Michael. Therefore Michael only knows the negative sides of life. Besides Max and Isabel there's, at first, no other person he trusts in. Because of this Michael became a outsider. He is inclined to be truant, despite his intelligence. More than the others, he wants to find out the truth about their origian. He is addicted to the fact, that there may be "others" so that he can escape this hated world. But besides this hard core a soft side is hidden. Michael looks for security and affection, even it's hard for him to show. He can't control his feelings & powers like Max or Isabel and he is full of spirits. With 16, he gets independent with the help of Max father. He moves to his very own appartement and works in the Crashdown and later in a chemical company. As independent as he is so stubborn he is. And neither Max nor Isabel or Maria can to talk at him about his life. |

Isabel Amanda Evans-Ramirez In many ways Isabel is obscure, but nevertheless the most fascinating character in "Roswell". Isabel Amanda Evans is Maxs sister and she's an alien like Max. She can't believe that Max told their secret. But later she encouraged Max to a relationship with Liz, and she showed her softer side, which she tries to hide behind a wall of pride and aloofness. From the outside, she seems to be cold and feelingless, but in reality she's a vulnerable and sensitive person, who just wants to have a normal life and fit to the world, she calls home. On the one hand, Isabel wants to protect their secret with her powers. But on the other hand, she's very popular at school and she's known for being ambitious. At first, it's hard for the attractive alien girl, to understand fearful people. Because of that she feels disrespect for her uncertain class mate Maria. When Isabel "dreamwalks" Alex, she finds out that he worries about her as a person. This impressed her. Isabel has a deep friendship with her brother and their friend Michael, who's like a brother to her. She is a family person, she celebrations such as Christmas she tries to make simply perfect and she helps at charity events. |

Alexander "alex" Charles Whitman Alex Whitman is the best friend of Liz and Maria, but although he's the last who finds out about the secret his friends share. Before he learns that Max, Michael and Isabel are aliens - first he thinks it's a piss take - he proves more than one time that he's a very loyal friend, a friend to trust in. He protects Liz, Maria, Max, Michael and Isabel without knowing their secret. Alex is a shy teenager who questions everything. This makes it almost unbearable for Maria and Liz to lie to him. He dosn't have a lot of friends, because he is inclined to appear as an outsider.Therefore, it's important to him to have the confidence of Liz and Maria. Only with the music, he plays with his band "The Whits", he can be open to other people. Alex is terribly in love with Isabel, but she seems out of reach. He is a kind of person, who would do anything, if he has the feeling it means something for this friend. So it's a hard test for him, when he noticed that Liz and Maria turn away from him and are dishonest to him. But he proves again, that he's a trustful friend. And from this time, he becomes a fully-fledged member of the gang and an important confidant for Isabel. |

Kyle Valenti Kyle is the son of the Sheriffs and he is an absolute average pupil, who plays football and basketball and thinks that he is a great deal. He is a fair and honst guy. But after he looses his girlfriend Liz to Max Evans he is possessed of the thought of destroy Max. This makes him to the bad guy of the first season. Since Kyles father is interested in Max Evans, Kyle thinks that Max is a threat and he wants to protect Liz. But he has no chance. Even if Kyle seems to pose a threat for the three aliens and he's sometimes very unfriendly, he can admit his mistakes and be nice. For example he apologizes for his friends who have beaten Max or he has fun with him, when he and Max were jealous of the guy who won a blind date with Liz. After Kyle gets an injury during a play, he has a lot of time to think and a character transformation begins. He finally goes to Liz to develop a friendship. When he gets wounded, Max heals him and Kyle changes his mind completly. After he and his father are part of the secret, he becomes a new person. Kyle is interessted in buddhism and he's friendly and funny. He even permits that Tess, the forth alien, moves in. Kyle gets more and more integrated into the group and he feels well. Kyle emerges after his "transformation" as a genuinly reliable friend, so that he helps out Liz in some situations. |

James "Jim" Valenti Jr. Jim Valenti is purposeful in his job as sheriff - in the second generation. His speculation, that Max is an extraterrestial, endanger his esteem. Jim's obsession to find out the truth takes so much time that he hardly has time for his son Kyle. He must recognize the fact that he follows in his fathers footsteps and this frightens him. In addition, he has to find out what he will do, if I finds a proof for this guess that Max is an alien. If Jim isn't on the seach for the truth he pursues Amy DeLuca, he had locked her up many years ago during her Hippie days for civilian disobedience in a romantic way, because he thougth that she was "sweet". |

Tess Harding Tess Harding is the new girl at the W. Roswell High School where she first becomes a friend with Isabel. But especially Max feels that there must be something more about Tess. He starts to get daydreams with Tess. Later it turns out that she's an alien, too. Tess is the fourth alien, who grew up with their protector Nasedo. When Nasedo dies, she finds a new home at the Valentis. She learned much from her protector and she has more experience in using her powers. |

Jesse Ramirez After his studies at Harvard University, Jesse Ramirez comes back to Roswell. There, he works in the office of Philip Evans as a lawyer. He marries Isabel Evans after a 4 month relationship and trusts her blindly, that he belives all the secrecies because of her differentness. But later, he finds out the truth and he even hills for her protection. |
